Video: Browser test BB Atlas Vs BB Bold

From the moment I got my Blackberry Atlas I knew there was something special about it. After opening almost every single application on the phone I realized that I was missing some browsing action, and so I did. The results were more than impressive. From the first time I opened Google on it, it blew my mind, even though I know google isn’t what we call a “heavy page”, still the speed was noticeable from the start. At that point, I wasn’t quite sure if it was my imagination or the phone being ridiculously fast, so I decided to test it against every single phone that I have and it beat all of them!

I decided to upload a video for everyone to take a look at what I’m talking about, so please enjoy.

    Two things to note.

1.- Yeah, yeah, the Atlas is faster.

2.- And… Crackberry SHOULD have a mobile friendly webpage.

You can also load crackberry on mobile version, but I just didn’t because everyone likes to see a heavy site load when testing speeds.

How does it stack up against the onyx?

Looked like the bold was using the 3g network while the Atlas was on wifi. Fair comparison?

From what it looks like, the Atlas is running on Wifi and the Bold isn’t… So not really a fair game.

I am really sorry! I’ll post again tomorrow with the proper adjustments. :(

Also be sure to clear the browser cache before running the tests.

    #3: Atlas = Onyx, no?

And I thought 3G was faster than normal wifi?

Thanks for the review. I’ve been waiting to see one. I think I would get one if I wasn’t laid off. Meh. Motivation.

    Another thought:

Shouldn’t the tests be done “independently”? I mean, not while the two devices are next to each other, requesting data from the network at the same time… Since both devices will be competing for the same resource, that is the Wifi network. I’d do each test timed, and one after the other.

    What do you guys think?

I’m a new Blackberry fan joining the hunt to find the first 9550 to hit the shelves! Never owned a smart phone but the the 9550 will be the first! I’m happy with the reviews thus far, looks like they got rid of the click mechanism (which is why I didn’t purchase the mechanically challenged first one). This may not quite top the Iphone, but it will be close enough for me!

Anyhow, here is the link to the demo. I found it by changing the number from 9350 to 9550. Pretty slick huh??? LOL!

LATER DUDE! and thanks for all the great videos and updates!

    -Peace.

Atlas has 5.0 OS I guess and wifi connection, Bold has 4.6 OS and 3G connection. I don’t know if this makes a difference.
