Well this is interesting… This version of our already loved and extremely reliable Blackberry 9700 was spotted in the wild by one of my buddies that was kind enough to send me a sweet picture of it. This one is known as the “Blackberry Bold 9780″, and by the picture you can see that is running on OS 6.0. This proves what we already know, but some don’t, which is the fact that NON TOUCHSCREEN Blackberry devices will get OS 6.0. Also, the slight difference from our regular 9700 would be the fact that the chrome bezel is darker (almost black). As far as the “guts” go we all know that it has 512mb of flash memory, but nothing else as off now. I’d say stay tuned as the story develops and maybe even some videos if we get lucky!

Finally my good friend Terrible Bean had the time to send me the new “Cool Setup Video” he promised to send me a while ago. This video is specific to the new flagship phone from RIM, the Blackberry 9800 running on OS v6.0. If the UI experience and the browsing experience end up being similar to what you are about to watch on this video I’m sure a lot of us Blackberry addicts will be extremely happy. The question is: Will it? Let’s hope so, and don’t forget to catch this video after the jump.

Finally we got to see something extraordinary coming our way (Blackberry fans, users, and addicts). The new up-coming Blackberry Browser is a real improvement from what we have now a days and will make a lot of people stop looking around for other devices or even stop them from carrying 2 phones at the same time. We have some screenshots from the browsers on the new iPhone 4 and the HTC Sense (Android) when we put them to the test. Take a look at the the video here and the results from the other 2 phones and let the fight begin!

Here we have the video of the Browser on the new Blackberry 9800 (Slider) in action:

Now compare that to these screenshots from the iPhone4 (iOS4):

And the HTC Droid Incredible (Android 2.1):

Hey guys, I know everyone looking forward to seeing some more action of the new Webkit browser and my buddy is working on it, so stay tuned! But I do have a little bit of new information, not long ago RIM filed a new patent application, which you can find here. Now I don’t understand all of this so I had a buddy help break it down for me and this is how he explained it. When browsing a website with javascript or css (style sheets) it wont be displayed until these are loaded completely. RIM’s patent basically looks to make those files load earlier so the site can be displayed quicker.

Here’s a quote from their patent application:

“Therefore, there is a need for a method and system whereby a first device (e.g. a wireless handheld device or mobile station) may send a request to a second device (e.g. a wireless gateway server or other server) for response data having a higher priority than response data for an earlier request which is still transferring to the first device from the second device.”

Now heres some website logs I was sent, my friend removed a couple things as to not give anything away.

So we see a couple interesting things here, first the browser identifies itself as “AppleWebKit”, I’m sure RIM will change that, and we also see that javascript and CSS files are being loaded from a different server. Both IP addresses are blackberry.net. Remember that “second device” RIM says in their patent application, well it looks like its already been implemented in their new browser. So what does all this mean to us? Well, from what I’m told more complex websites will load faster than the competition.

So that’s what I have for you for now, but we also have some very cool stuff coming up that will make Android and iPhone users jealous about our new/upcoming Blackberry Browser! Stay tuned for that one too. Before I go I want to thank my friend who sent me this and my 9800 source, “Terrible Bean”, for all the cool info he’s been sending over our way!

Please do me a huge favor and stay cool for me

Finally! Our good friend and excellent hybrid builder, willyboy6, just posted on Driphter.com a new video of the new Blackberry Browser in action. The new browser that RIM is coming up is a “Web Kit Browser” (just like the one you can find on the iPhone and Android phones), which will put RIM in a much better commercial position when it comes to selling phones; after all, who doesn’t need a fast and functional browser on their phone, right!? Watch the video after the jump

Willyboy6′s video shows the browser rendering 3 websites, pinch to zoom, and tabbed browsing without losing speed in transitions. This looks incredibly promising, specially when you know that this is NOT the final version that will be released. All of us Blackberry fans have been waiting for this for years, and now its so close I can almost taste it!

Is there anything you don’t like or you love about the new Web kit Browser? Please stop by and drop a comment and tell me what else would you like to see from OS 6.0

Stay sexy peeps!
