So, I've been on the waiting list for over 6 months now. Still have not gotten any love from them. I keep hearing about people getting an invite moments after they sign up, or only having to wait a few weeks. Sick of waiting >.<

I wish I knew what their deal was too. I mean, at some point they should release their app to the public right?

I think it's the luck of the draw, and what you end up with is "socialscope lite" anyways. It's really not worth it, especially with some twitter clients that are coming around the corner very soon (new, and updated existing clients).
Also, in due time, there will be a RIM developed (completely push, from what I understand) twitter client to follow along with the rest of their social apps.

My Bro in law is a moderator on Crackberry and he sent my wife and I a link several months ago for SS lite and my wife got it right away and I was at a conference and they pulled it before I could get it.
I have been on the waiting list almost 8 months I think. I almost hope that something better for blackberry comes out and puts them out of business since they are dragging their feet. Not that I wish bad things for anyone, but once we get a taste we all want things now!
Six months here. I actually forgot I signed up for it until I re-read this thread.

I only want socialscope for the fb/twitter in one. I've been lucky to play with an account someone has, but it's always limited playing.. goes back after

Logically, the people behind SocialScope can't prove their own existence, therefore they and SocialScope don't exist. Also, as SocialScope is not available to us and thus not real to us, it can not exist.
Meanwhile, for a Facebook+Twitter combo Toot looks promising, though I wish there was a demo of it available: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/3095

Honestly, I've been waiting on SS for so long, even if I do get the go-ahead from them I likely won't use it just out of sheer irritation with their approval model.

Its nice too see I'm not alone on this one. It really has been a poorly managed (non)rollout.

I have pretty much given up on getting SocialScope. Ubertwitter is just fine for me and I'll wait for something better that comes along for Facebook & Twitter. Vodaphone Update is decent.

I did get my SocialScope invite a while back. Been playing around with it and my new Curve 8520 for a good week and a half or so... it was disappointing at best. Sure was nice to have Facebook and Twitter as a combo, but it really was not worth the wait. Of course, it is beta/alpha, however for such an overhyped software I expected more.
Very simple issues like not being able to display accented characters (ä/ö) make it look pretty laughable as a whole. Also, the Facebook portion was very incomplete that it was only good for commenting on other's posts. There was no option to write on someone else's wall, something quite essential for a "true" Facebook experience.
SocialScope is good though for non-extreme Twitter action (I know much better clients for this, especially for the power users in us). Also, the ability to do stuff purely on WiFi is great.
If it weren't for the fact that I don't have a BlackBerry data plan, I would be using RIM's Facebook app and one of the more better Twitter clients out there. I was in Sweden during Christmas and had the joy of trying out prepaid BIS. Loved the e-mail, but must say that I truly miss the Facebook app more :)

i am not a power twitter user by any means, so i can not argue that point but on the facebook side i have to disagree. socialscope does indeed display the accented marks for me and you do have the ability to write on walls. when you select a post from your timeline it gives you the option to comment on the post, make it a wall post, poke, or like. now i am not sure if you maybe just didnt see that so if that is the case i hope this helps you to enjoy your socialscope experience a little better now =]
