What carrier do you have? You should go to your carrier's website to see what is the
recommended OS for your 8100. I know on Crackberry, people always recommend
getting updated OS, but the 8100's are kinda buggy. I think my old 8100 still
had 4.2.

To check your software version, go into the options menu then click on about. This first screen will give the the info you require.

Have a look at Crackberry.com for loads of Berry info.
